Web applications, APIs and backend systems.

My work spans frontend engineering and accessibility, backend services, search, data-intensive systems and distributed applications.

I work across languages and platforms, adapting to the application and the people who maintain it. My focus is understanding how the system behaves and what it needs to do.

When I review an application, I follow how a task moves through the system: what the user sees, which rules run, where the data goes and what happens if a part fails. That helps me explain both the problem and the changes needed to fix it.

02 / Working with me

What you can expect.

I’ll ask what the software needs to do and what is getting in the way. We’ll agree the scope before I start, including what you’ll receive and any access I need.

For reviews, I explain how I reached each finding and flag anything I haven’t been able to verify. For development, you’ll see working versions as the project progresses.

I work with applications built by developers and with AI tools. In either case, I check the behaviour and the code before recommending changes. If part of the work needs expertise I don’t have, I’ll say so.

Handover includes the instructions and decisions someone else will need to maintain the application. You can continue with me or take the work to your own team.
